Location Concepts

Use this page to decide whether you need another location, and how locations differ from other Fitnez Studio terms.

Location

A location is a physical site — a studio, branch, or other place where your business runs sessions.

Create a separate location when the site is a different physical place. Two locations in the selector, such as London and Toronto, are two sites the business operates.

Location versus layout

These are easy to mix up:

TermMeaning
LocationThe physical site (studio, branch, or building)
LayoutThe floor plan of spots or stations members can book into, such as bikes, mats, or reformers
SpotOne bookable position in a layout

Use a new location when you add another site. Use a layout when you need a different floor plan of spots inside a space.

Studio layouts are documented in Training Programs. This page only explains that a layout is not a location.

Location versus class and training program

TermMeaning
LocationWhere the session takes place
Training programThe type of training, such as cycling, pilates, or HIIT
ClassOne session at a specific date and time
ScheduleA repeating timetable that creates many classes

A training program and its classes are attached to a location. Adding a new class does not create a new location.

Location-restricted packages

A package is what a member buys — a membership, class pack, or session bundle.

Packages can be limited to certain locations. Use that when an offer should only be valid at selected sites, not at every location.

How a location-restricted package behaves at booking time is not confirmed yet. Do not assume the booking outcome. See Package Restrictions.

Rooms

The topic plan mentions rooms as well as studios and branches. There is no room screen in the location screenshots we have, so this guide does not treat a room as a separate thing you create in the location selector.

If your business uses rooms inside one site, tell us how you want that explained before we add it here.
